There are many reasons for dark circles; some include lack of sleep and iron. These can easily be reversed with a healthier lifestyle. However, some dark circles are stubborn and never seem to go away no matter how much rest or vitamins you take. If you feel this way; your dark circles may be caused by hyper-pigmentation. Hyper-pigmentation is a darkening of the skin. Although there are many over the counter products to treat dark circles caused by hyper-pigmentation, you should visit your doctor beforehand to make sure you are diagnosed with hyper-pigmentation.

1. Eating healthy is important not only for your body but your eyes. Eating plenty of fruits and vegetables rich in beta carotene help you have healthy eyes.Carrots, Spinach, Papaya and Mango.

2. Stop rubbing your eyes. Weak blood vessels under your eyes break and bruise causing dark circles under eyes. When you rub your eyes you break blood vessels under your eyes and unintentionally cause dark circles under eyes. If your eyes are bothering you try blinking instead.

7. Adequate Rest. Sleep is a classic treatment for dark circles and puffy eyes because it works. Without quality sleep the face literally sags. When you sleep circulation increases throughout your body; including your face and eyes. However, one important thing to remember is sleeping with your head slightly elevated. 

8. Use Sunglasses. Protecting your eyes from the sun will prevent fine lines, wrinkles, and crows feet. It also prevents skin from darkening under the eyes.
